**Yes. Tennessee law requires auctioneers to be licensed through the Tennessee Auctioneer Commission. Anyone conducting an auction or calling bids for compensation must hold an active auctioneer license.

If real estate is being sold, the auctioneer must also be a licensed real estate agent and operate under a licensed real estate brokerage in the State of Tennessee.**
